The Big Eight announced that all high school athletics is postponed through April 27th, as a result of the state’s mandated school closures. Schools are closed indefinitely. Because of WIAA practice rules, competition would not start until May 7th, as teams are required to have a certain number of practices before they can start competing in games. The Big Eight said in a press release that “we continue to get regular updates and guidance from Public Health and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and communicate with the WIAA to make sure we can get correct information out as soon as we can.” They later added that they expect the next update on high school athletics to be released April 10th. If any athlete has any questions, they should contact their coach or the JMM athletic director, Jeremy Schlitz.
