Super Bowl 54

The NFL’s 54th Super Bowl matchup has been officially set. The Kansas City Chiefs, led by MVP award winner Patrick Mahomes, will meet the San Francisco 49ers in Miami. The game will feature the league’s most prolific offense, the Chiefs, and the 49ers top-5 defense. Both teams reached the Super Bowl in similar ways, having a bye-week for the first round of the playoff and then two straight home games. The Chiefs began their playoff run against the Houston Texans, in quite a bizarre game. Houston took a quick 24-0 lead, but then the Chiefs stormed back and scored on 7 straight possessions, winning the game 51-31. Next, the Chiefs handled the sixth-seeded Tennessee Titans 35-24. In a similar fashion, the San Francisco 49ers beat the Minnesota Vikings in the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs and proceeded to beat the Green Bay Packers 37-20 in the NFC Championship. 49ers Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo only needed to pass the ball eight times in their victory over the Packers, as running back Raheem Mostert ran for 220 yards, an NFL playoff record.

There will be plenty of intriguing matchups to watch out for in Super Bowl LIV, especially the coaching matchup: Chiefs’ Head Coach Andy Reid and 49ers’ Head Coach Kyle Shanahan are widely regarded as the two best offensive-minded coaches in the NFL. Each coach has their own distinct style, with Kyle Shanahan’s more run-oriented scheme and Andy Reid’s much more pass-oriented scheme. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs’ dominant offense versus the stingy San Francisco Defense is another match-up to keep an eye out for.

Super Bowl 54 will also mark the first time that a female and openly gay person will coach, as 49ers assistant Katie Sowers will be on the sidelines coaching up her players during the game. Super Bowl 54 is not only the greatest sporting spectacle in America, but it is also one of the greatest entertainment spectacles in the United States. This year’s Super Bowl will take place in Miami, Florida at Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins. With the Super Bowl being played in Miami, there will be numerous activities for fans who are attending the game, or simply people who just want the experience of being around a Super Bowl, at South Beach and other attractions in the Miami area. The halftime show at this year’s super bowl will be headlined by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez to celebrate the area’s Hispanic population and roots. Although the Super Bowl will be solely broadcasted on Fox, numerous media outlets will deliver coverage on the big game. Many expect this Super Bowl to be one of the most exciting games in recent history after all the game will put a bow on the NFL’s 100th season. So who will it be, Patrick Mahomes and the explosive Kansas City Chiefs or will the San Francisco 49ers bring home their sixth Lombardi Trophy? You can find out by tuning into Fox at 6:07 pm on February 2nd. There’s plenty to watch during the Super Bowl, even the commercials if you’re not into football.
