Whether you’re going to a Halloween party or are still trying to capitalize on your relatively young looks to get free candy, you’ll need a costume. Luckily you don’t need a lot of money to pull together something presentable- you just need some creativity.
Hawaiian tourist – If you don’t want people asking you “What are you?” all night, go for something easy like this. You probably already have everything you need in your closet from school dress-up days, so dig out that tacky flowered shirt and lei, and you’ve got yourself a presentable costume.
Minion – A yellow shirt, overalls, and yellow face paint are all you need. You could also carry around a banana. After all, you never know when you’ll get hungry.
Princess Leia – It’s a timeless one – get a white dress, something to tie as a belt, and put your hair in buns. The hair is the main feature of the outfit, so you really have to get the buns right.
Handmaid from The Handmaid’s Tale – Pay homage to Margaret Atwood’s widely acclaimed book (or just impress your AP Lit teacher) with the simple outfit that the Handmaids of The Republic of Gilead wear – a red dress and a bonnet (which can easily be made from some cardstock).
