It’s only December, but before you know it, the end of the semester will be here and with it, the semester exams. With winter break coming up, it may seem too early to begin thinking about these exams, but here are some things to keep in mind:
- Start studying early– Even if you only study a little bit each day, breaking up your studying into portions will help you prepare for the final- and keep you from cramming an entire semester’s worth of material into the night before the test!
- Get a study group together– group studying gives you the opportunity to discuss materials and go over areas you are confused about. Studying with friends can be fun, but make sure you stay on track!
- Plan ahead– Look over the material ahead of time so you have time to ask questions and clarify things you are not sure about. Many teachers hold study sessions or set aside time for questions; make sure your take advantage of these! Planning ahead will also help you balance studying with other activities- especially with winter break coming up. This way, you will be much more relaxed.
- Be smart– calculate the grades you’ll need in each class to get the letter grade you want. Spend more time on the finals you need a higher grade on!
Hopefully with all the preparation and planning ahead, finals week will be a breeze!
Good luck!
